Police Department

 

The City of St Robert has an immediate opening for the dispatcher position.

This is a Full-time position with benefits which will require working days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays. Applicant must have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with stressful conditions. Applicant must have the ability to act quickly, calmly and correctly in emergency situations at all hours and to deal courteously with the public.

Duties include operating telephone and radio equipment to receive and transmit incoming/outgoing emergency calls to the Police or Fire. Interview callers to obtain detailed information related to the emergency; Provide emergency information and direction to callers as required; Determine the classification of requests for service and the priority nature of the request; Maintain communication with caller and emergency personnel to receive and update information; Provide continuing communications among police and fire fighting during the incident; Contact utility companies, other governmental or private agencies when necessary to obtain needed services or additional support; Log and maintain a variety of records on incidents dispatched; operate various computer terminals including the CAD - Computer Aided Dispatch system.

Applicants will be required to participate in a random drug and alcohol testing. Must be 21 years of age and a High School Graduate or equivalent, possess a valid driver’s license, and pass a criminal background check.
