OUR MISSION

Uniformly enforce and provide consistency in interpretations of the City's adopted codes. Disseminate information on code compliance in order to educate and safeguard the public from any imminent threat of code violations. Build on the continuous dedication of our employees to work towards achieving and implementing programs to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Continue to provide educational opportunities to all employees. Be committed to anticipate changes in the construction industry. Insure a teamwork approach with the construction community to protect the health, safety, and welfare of our community.

BUILDING CODE ENFORCEMENT

The City of St. Robert is committed to ensuring that the homes in which the residents of St. Robert reside and the buildings in which they work or frequent are designed and constructed to be structurally stable with adequate means of egress, adequate light and ventilation, and to provide a minimum acceptable level of protection to life and property from fire. The enforcement of the adopted building codes by the City Building Department ensures that the public safety, health and welfare of the community are provided for in all buildings and structures that are constructed or occupied within the City of St. Robert

LAND USE DEVELOPMENT

The St. Robert Planning and Zoning Commission, and Board of Aldermen are committed to ensuring that the adopted regulations and standards for the zoning district classification, subdividing, and development of land for urban use within the City shall provide for adequate light, air, open space, drainage, traffic circulation, utilities, and other needs of the community. This joint commitment will ensure the viable and equitable growth of a healthy, attractive, and efficient community for the residents and visitors of St. Robert.

It is the obligation of the St. Robert Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Aldermen that all land development within the City be implemented using sound and effective planning practices that are in compliance with the Missouri Revised Statutes, City Comprehensive Plan and the St. Robert Land Development Regulations.

The Land Development Regulations are a broad set of zoning and subdivision regulations that are intended to help preserve and protect existing property uses and values from adverse or non-harmonious adjacent land use developments. Implementation of these regulations will

ensure that all land uses within the City are governed by a minimum acceptable set of guidelines and criteria that govern permissible land uses, subdivision developments, zoning district boundaries and infrastructure requirements within the City. The Land Use Department’s enforcement of

these established zoning and subdivision regulations will ensure that the coordinated physical development of the community will be conducted in a logical and well planned process that is compatible with the comprehensive plan of the City and the future growth of the municipality.
