We’re proud to shine a spotlight on a true local landmark. Rippee’s Barber Shop, St. Robert’s oldest barber shop, has been part of this community since the 1960s.
Owned and operated by Josh Murray, Rippee’s is far from your average barber shop. Josh started working for longtime barber Al Rippee in 2002, and in 2009, he and two friends bought the business and moved it to its current location on Missouri Avenue. The other two owners have since moved on to new things. According to Josh, they’ll tell you they were fired, but as he jokes, “if they hadn’t been stealing hair, it never would have happened.”
Rippee’s is built on personality, honesty, and a love of what they do. It may not look like much from the outside, but once you walk in, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Josh and his team enjoy keeping the atmosphere fun and lighthearted. Some folks think they’re mean, but it’s all part of the charm. Their motto says it all:
“The only thing worse than our haircuts is our customer service.”
They specialize in classic haircuts, straightforward service, and a shop full of character. You’ll get a great cut, a few laughs, and probably a story or two. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but the regulars love it and keep coming back.

Monday through Friday: 8 AM to 5 PM (with a midday lunch break)
Saturday and Sunday: 9 AM to 2 PM
