Over the coming weeks, we are highlighting the individuals who have filed to run for Alderman in the upcoming municipal election. For Ward 2, Lillie Fincher Creighton is one of two candidates who have filed for this position in the upcoming election.
About Lillie
Lillie Fincher Creighton has lived in Pulaski County her entire life and has called St. Robert home for the past eight years. During that time, she has come to know many of the people and businesses that make the community unique.
She has watched the city grow and evolve and says she cares deeply about ensuring St. Robert continues moving in a positive direction for the residents and businesses who call the area home.
Professionally, Lillie has spent the past eight years working in banking and finance. She now works in the automotive industry in warranty and business development at Seeger Toyota.
Why She Is Running
Lillie shared that she believes St. Robert is at an important point in its growth and development. As the community continues to evolve, she felt this was the right time to step forward and offer a fresh perspective.
She says she wants to contribute to the continued progress of the city while representing the voices of Ward 2 residents.
Community and Personal Interests
Outside of work, Lillie values spending time with her family above all else. Raising children in the community is very important to her, and much of her time outside of work is centered around family activities.
Strengths and Community Involvement
Lillie believes her professional background in banking has helped strengthen her ability to analyze financial matters, evaluate information carefully, and make thoughtful decisions.
She also notes that building relationships across the community has helped her understand the perspectives of many residents. She believes listening, building consensus, and representing the voices of Ward 2 residents are among the most important responsibilities of local leadership.
Lillie has also been involved in community service, including serving with AmeriCorps through school district outreach and volunteering at her children’s elementary school. She continues to stay engaged in the community and spends time helping support senior neighbors.
Her View on Leadership
Lillie describes good leadership through a simple principle: the Golden Rule. She believes leaders should treat others the way they would want to be treated, even when there are disagreements.
She emphasizes being present, listening to residents, and making decisions responsibly while standing behind those decisions.
Listening to Residents
Lillie says listening begins with being available and responsive. She plans to remain engaged through community events, everyday conversations, and open communication so residents know they can reach her and be heard.
Looking Ahead
When asked about priorities for the future, Lillie highlighted the importance of reliable and affordable utility services. She believes dependable infrastructure and competitive utility rates support the quality of life for residents and also help create an environment where businesses can invest in St. Robert.

Lillie shared that she is running with the goal of serving the community and representing the voices of residents. She says she brings a fresh perspective, an open mind, and a willingness to listen, learn, and work collaboratively for the benefit of St. Robert.
