The City of St. Robert and the St. Robert Police Department are proud to recognize Officer Robert League as the recipient of the 2025 Dan Wogan Award, marking the 15th presentation of this distinguished honor.

The Dan Wogan Award is named in memory of Sergeant First Class Daniel Clifford Wogan, Sr., United States Army Retired, and a longtime St. Robert Police Officer. Following more than 24 years of military service, including combat service in Vietnam, Dan Wogan continued serving the community through 39 years with the St. Robert Police Department and Municipal Court. His professionalism, integrity, work ethic, and dedication to others left a lasting impact on the department and community he loved.

After retiring from the Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Dan and his family made the St. Robert area their home. Today, the award bearing his name recognizes officers who demonstrate the same values and commitment to service that defined his life and career.

Officer Robert League is a fitting recipient of that honor.

Born in Huntsville, Alabama, League graduated from Brindlee Mountain High School before entering the United States Army in November 2017. During his military service, he served as a Combat Engineer and Military Working Dog Handler. Following his Army service, he joined the St. Robert Police Department in October 2023 and has continued his commitment to serving others.

Working primarily on the night shift, Officer League has earned a reputation as a hardworking, proactive officer who takes pride in his duties. He is known for routinely checking businesses, investigating suspicious activity, maintaining a visible patrol presence, and supporting fellow officers and dispatch personnel whenever needed.

Police Chief Curtis Curenton believes those qualities make League an excellent representative of the award's legacy.

"I think Officer League's work ethic and sense of service is what most reminds me of Officer Wogan," said Chief Curenton. "He is truly an outstanding person, and we're fortunate to have him on our department."
