During the July 1, 2026, St. Robert City Council meeting, the City of St. Robert proudly recognized Colonel Stephen Bartley, Garrison Commander of Fort Leonard Wood, with a Mayor's Proclamation honoring his exceptional leadership, steadfast partnership, and dedicated service to both our nation and our community.

Throughout his distinguished Army career, Colonel Bartley has faithfully served the United States with honor and professionalism. During his tenure as Garrison Commander, he strengthened the longstanding relationship between Fort Leonard Wood and the City of St. Robert through collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to serving military families, residents, and the entire region.

As the senior leader responsible for the day-to-day operations of Fort Leonard Wood, Colonel Bartley played an instrumental role in fostering partnerships that benefited both the installation and the surrounding communities. His leadership exemplified servant leadership, integrity, and a genuine commitment to building relationships that will have a lasting impact for years to come.

Mayor James W. Breckinridge presented the proclamation on behalf of the Board of Aldermen, City staff, and the residents of St. Robert as a token of appreciation for Colonel Bartley's unwavering dedication and friendship.

"Strong communities are built through strong partnerships," said Mayor Breckinridge. "Colonel Bartley has been an outstanding partner to the City of St. Robert, and we are grateful for his leadership, friendship, and commitment to strengthening the bond between our community and Fort Leonard Wood."

As Colonel Bartley concludes his military career and begins the next chapter of his life, the City of St. Robert extends its sincere gratitude for his years of faithful service to our nation and wishes him continued success, happiness, and fulfillment in the years ahead.
